SOLUTION CONCEPT 04 / DIGITAL LEARNING
Knowledge people can
actually find
Most organizations do not lack training material. They lack confidence that the material is current and that the right person will find it.
Adaptable solution concept. This is a starting point we shape with you, not a product available to buy or licence.
THE CONCEPT
What Brightlane Learn
actually is.
A solution concept for digital learning and knowledge management, designed so training material does not quietly go out of date.
Brightlane Learn is a starting point we adapt, not a learning platform you can subscribe to. It describes how training, reference material and institutional knowledge could be written once, kept current and found when someone needs it. The shape depends on what your people need to know and how often that changes. We design it with your subject experts rather than handing over a finished system.
COMMON CHALLENGES IT ANSWERS
- Training material exists in several versions and nobody is sure which one is current
- Onboarding depends on a handful of experienced people repeating the same explanations
- Procedures change but the documents describing them do not
- People cannot find the answer they need, so they ask a colleague instead
- There is no clear view of who has been trained on what
INTENDED USERS
Who it is
designed for.
Training and enablement teams
People building onboarding and ongoing learning who need material to stay accurate without constant rewrites.
Regulated and technical teams
Teams where following the current procedure matters and an outdated document is a real risk.
Fast-growing organizations
Businesses hiring quickly, where knowledge currently transfers by sitting next to an experienced colleague.
POTENTIAL MODULES
The pieces it
could be built from.
Modules are starting points. An engagement usually begins with two or three of them and adds the rest only if they earn their place.
MODULES
- Course and pathway builder. Structured learning paths assembled from smaller reusable pieces of content.
- Knowledge library. A searchable reference layer for procedures, answers and how-to material.
- Content ownership and review. Named owners and review dates, so ageing material is visible rather than assumed fine.
- Assessment and checks. Simple knowledge checks that confirm understanding rather than just completion.
- Progress tracking. A clear record of what each person has completed and what is outstanding.
- Search and navigation. Ways to find material by task, role or question instead of only by course title.
CUSTOMISATION
- A content structure based on your roles, procedures and the way your teams describe their work
- Review cycles set by how quickly each area of knowledge actually changes
- Authoring tools pitched at your subject experts, who are rarely full-time content writers
- Tracking designed around what your organization genuinely needs to evidence
INTEGRATION CONSIDERATIONS
- Identity and single sign-on
- Email and calendar
- Document and file storage
- Video and media hosting
- Human resources systems
- Internal databases and line-of-business systems
Categories of system, not named products. What connects depends on what you already run.
EXAMPLE USE CASE
How this could work
in practice.
Representative scenario, illustrative, not a verified client project
Onboarding that is still accurate three months later
THE SITUATION
A multi-site operator trains new staff using slide decks stored on a shared drive. Procedures have changed twice since the decks were written, and each site now teaches something slightly different.
THE SHAPE OF THE WORK
A shaped version of Learn could hold one owned version of each procedure, build site onboarding from those pieces, and flag content that has passed its review date.
WHAT THE TEAM COULD THEN DO
The team could then point new starters at one current source, see which material is overdue for review, and discuss site differences from a shared baseline.
EXAMPLE WORKFLOW
Find out what people need to know
We work out what knowledge matters for each role and where it currently lives, formally or informally.
Agree ownership
We establish who owns each area of content, because unowned material is what goes stale.
Structure the content
We design reusable content pieces so a procedure is updated once rather than in five places.
Build the learning experience
We build the authoring, learning and search experiences around how people will realiztically use them.
Keep it current
We set up review cycles and reporting so the system shows its own blind spots over time.
QUESTIONS
Questions about
this concept.
No. It is a solution concept rather than a product with a license or a sign-up. We treat it as a design starting point and build a version suited to your content.
Rarely all of it. We usually start by reviewing what exists, keeping what is still accurate, and restructuring it so it can be maintained properly.
A shared drive stores files but says nothing about whether they are current. The concept adds ownership, review dates and search built around questions people actually ask.
